Blackboard Learn is Triton College’s e-learning platform, and accessing it requires a unique username and password. These credentials are not the same as your general portal or email login information. This guide will walk you through how to find your Triton Blackboard Learn username and password so you can access your courses.
To begin, understand that your Blackboard login details are distinct from your regular Triton College portal or email account credentials. Let’s break down how to find your specific Blackboard username and password.
Understanding Your Triton Blackboard Learn Credentials
Your Blackboard username is specifically the last eight digits of your Photo ID number. This number can be found using the Photo ID Lookup tool, although it is also present on your physical Photo ID card.
Your Blackboard password, for the majority of students, is the last four digits of their Social Security Number (SSN). If your SSN is not on file or if this password does not work, then your password will be the last four digits of your Colleague ID.
Finding Your Photo ID Number
To locate your Photo ID Number, you will need either your Social Security Number (SSN), if it is on file with the college, or your Colleague ID. The Photo ID Lookup tool requires one of these identifiers to retrieve your Photo ID Number.
Locating Your Colleague ID
If you prefer to use your Colleague ID to find your Photo ID number, or if you need it as a potential Blackboard password, you can easily locate it within the Triton College Portal.
To find your Colleague ID, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Student Self-Service area within the portal.
- Click on the “User Profile” link.
Under the “User Profile” tab, you will see your Colleague ID listed below your name in the “About You” section.

Once you have your SSN or Colleague ID, you can use the Photo ID Lookup tool to find your Photo ID Number. Remember, the last 8 digits of your Photo ID Number serve as your Blackboard username.
