Your Guide to the Early Learning Coalition Portal for IECP Learning Events

Navigating professional development opportunities in early childhood education just got easier with the Early Learning Coalition Portal. This online platform serves as your central hub for accessing a wide range of Individualized Education for Child Professionals (IECP) learning events and workshops. Whether you are looking to enhance your skills, earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs), or stay updated with the best practices in early learning, understanding how to use the portal is your first step. This guide outlines the key policies and procedures you need to know to make the most of the learning opportunities available through the Early Learning Coalition Portal.

Registration Made Simple Through the Portal

Enrolling in IECP learning events and workshops is streamlined through our user-friendly online Early Learning Coalition Portal. All registrations are processed digitally, ensuring a quick and efficient sign-up experience. To secure your spot in a desired session, it’s important to register early as enrollment is based on a first-come, first-served system, and class sizes are limited to maintain an optimal learning environment. An account on the Early Learning Coalition Portal is mandatory for all learning event registrations, regardless of whether the event is free or requires payment. This centralized system helps manage your learning journey effectively.

Payment Options on the Early Learning Coalition Portal

For learning events that require a fee, the Early Learning Coalition Portal offers secure online payment processing at the time of your registration. This integrated payment system ensures a hassle-free transaction, allowing you to complete your registration and payment in one seamless process within the portal. You can manage your payment details and registration history directly through your account on the portal.

Understanding Our Registration Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your registration for an IECP learning event, the Early Learning Coalition Portal allows cancellations up to 48 hours before the scheduled event. Upon cancellation within this timeframe, a full refund will be credited back to your online account on file within the portal. This policy ensures fairness and allows others on waiting lists to potentially participate.

Learning Event Cancellation by the Early Learning Coalition

In certain circumstances, the Early Learning Coalition may need to cancel a learning event, typically due to insufficient enrollment. Should a cancellation occur, registered participants will be promptly notified via email through the contact information provided in their Early Learning Coalition Portal account. In the event of a learning event cancellation, a full credit will be applied to your online account within the portal, which can be used for future learning opportunities.

Punctuality is Key: Our Attendance Policy

To maximize your learning experience and respect the schedule of our instructors and fellow participants, we encourage you to log in virtually or arrive in person 5-10 minutes before your learning event is scheduled to begin. Participants arriving more than 15 minutes after the start time WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO THE SESSION. This policy is strictly enforced to minimize disruptions and ensure a focused learning environment for everyone. Partial in-service credit may be offered in some cases for late arrivals at the discretion of the facilitator, but make-up sessions WILL NOT BE OFFERED for any missed content.

Commitment to Non-Discrimination

The IECP and Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all learners. In accordance with our Anti-Discrimination Policy, we ensure that no person is discriminated against based on race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, disability/handicap, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, or age in any aspect of our learning events, training workshops, or professional development programs. Furthermore, the Early Learning Coalition is dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, handicaps, and/or religious beliefs to ensure equitable access to all learning opportunities.

ADA Compliance and Accessibility

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Early Learning Coalition is committed to making reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Any person requiring accommodations to participate in a learning event should contact us at 813.515.2340 at least seven business days prior to the scheduled event. This advance notice allows us sufficient time to arrange the necessary support to enhance your learning experience.

Ensuring Learner Security and Privacy

The Early Learning Coalition prioritizes the privacy and security of all learners who participate in our IECP learning events. Registration through our secure online Early Learning Coalition Portal ensures that each learner’s record is protected from public access. As a learner, you have the ability to access copies of your certifications and review your demographic and contact information stored within your personal portal account. For assistance with accessing your records or any online support, please contact us at 813.515.2340. To maintain security and verify identity, learners are required to present a state or government-issued photo ID at all in-person learning events.

Transparency with Our Proprietary Interest Policy

The Early Learning Coalition is committed to transparency and ethical practices in all our learning events. Our Proprietary Interest Policy ensures that participants are informed about any proprietary interest a trainer or instructor may have in a product or service discussed during a learning event. All trainers and instructors are required to disclose any proprietary interest in products, instruments, devices, services, and/or materials, as well as the source of any compensation related to their presentation. This disclosure allows participants to make informed decisions and understand potential biases.

Earning CEUs and In-Service Hours

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded for IECP learning events that are three hours or longer in duration, recognizing your commitment to ongoing professional development. Events shorter than three hours offer in-service hours upon completion. CEUs are granted upon successful completion of the learning event, which includes arriving on time, attending all required sessions, actively participating, and completing any assignments or surveys as specified by the trainer or instructor. For online trainings accessed through the Early Learning Coalition Portal, an engagement score of 75% or higher is required, and CAMERAS MUST BE ON at all times – no exceptions. Your display name in online sessions must match the name used during registration on the portal. Details about any required assignments or surveys are provided in the Training Description on the Early Learning Coalition Portal. We encourage learners to reach out to trainers or instructors for any clarifications needed to ensure successful completion. In-service hours will be awarded if the requirements for CEUs are not fully met. Please note that training sessions may be recorded for educational purposes.

Achievement Bonus Opportunities

For educators teaching within Hillsborough County, the Early Learning Coalition Portal offers access to opportunities to earn achievement bonuses through IECP training. To qualify, you must meet all course requirements, including pre and post assessments, homework assignments, reflection activities, and LMS instructor evaluations, if applicable. Each educator is eligible for up to four training achievement bonuses per training cycle, and bonuses are not awarded for previously completed coursework. To process achievement bonuses, a W9 form must be submitted, and the address on the form must match the address in your Early Learning Coalition Portal account. For any questions regarding achievement bonuses, please contact Abbey Landa at [email protected].

Accessing Your Certificate of Completion

Upon successful completion of an IECP learning event or training, participants can easily access and retrieve their Certificate of Completion directly from their individual online account on the Early Learning Coalition Portal. This digital certificate serves as official documentation of your professional development and can be downloaded or printed as needed.

Child Care Considerations

Please be aware that all IECP learning events and training sessions offered through the Early Learning Coalition Portal are designed for adult audiences. To ensure your full engagement and participation, we kindly request that all registrants make necessary childcare arrangements prior to attending. Childcare services are not available at our learning events.
