Because We Care Learning Academy, a trusted name in early childhood education, is excited to announce the opening of its second location in Copperas Cove. Following the success of its Temple center, which quickly reached full capacity after opening nearly a year ago, Because We Care Learning Academy 2 is now welcoming families at 903 MLK Jr. Dr. This expansion addresses the growing demand for high-quality childcare in the Copperas Cove community, providing a nurturing and enriching environment for children from infancy through age 12.
Driven by community need and a commitment to providing exceptional care, the decision to open a Copperas Cove location was a direct response to local demand. “We’ve had a waiting list at our Temple location, signaling the need for more childcare options in the area,” says Morgan Yarbrough, Center Director, who brings her experience from the Temple academy to lead the new Copperas Cove facility. “When we asked our online community where a daycare was most needed, Copperas Cove was overwhelmingly the answer.” This direct community feedback underscores Because We Care Learning Academy’s dedication to serving the needs of local families.
The Copperas Cove center, previously a daycare facility, has been thoughtfully prepared to welcome up to 105 children. Operating from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Because We Care Learning Academy offers convenient hours to accommodate working parents. Morgan Yarbrough, with her extensive experience in early childhood education since the age of 17, is passionate about creating a positive and impactful learning environment in her new Copperas Cove community, where she also plans to reside. “I love kids and have dedicated my career to providing them with nurturing care and enriching learning experiences,” Yarbrough shares.

Working alongside Yarbrough is Rebekah Aguallo, the center’s manager, who also brings years of experience in the childcare sector. Aguallo’s passion for childcare is deeply rooted, inspired by her mother’s 20-plus years in daycare. “I’ve always enjoyed working with children,” Aguallo explains. “It’s rewarding to be a part of their early development and provide a supportive and fun learning space.” Together, Yarbrough and Aguallo form a dedicated leadership team committed to providing exceptional care at Because We Care Learning Academy.
Because We Care Learning Academy is structured to cater to different age groups, featuring six specialized classrooms. These include a nursery for infants, a room for one-year-olds, two toddler rooms, a pre-kindergarten room, and a kindergarten 1 room. Each classroom is designed to be age-appropriate and stimulating, ensuring that children receive focused attention and activities tailored to their developmental stage.
The academy utilizes a comprehensive daily curriculum that encompasses a variety of engaging activities. Children participate in circle time for foundational learning, explore their creativity through art projects, express themselves through dance and movement, enjoy outdoor playtime, engage in story time, and benefit from free play sessions. Outdoor activities are designed to be both fun and active, including classic games like hide-and-seek, red rover, and freeze tag, alongside opportunities for unstructured play. “Our teachers follow a structured daily schedule that includes circle time for calendar work, ABCs, colors, shapes, and numbers,” Yarbrough explains. Examples of enriching projects include creating alligators from the letter A, crafting paper plate apples, circle painting with cups, and making ladybug plates, fostering both learning and creativity. Parents can stay informed about their child’s learning journey through posted weekly lesson plans in each classroom and center announcements on a front desk dry erase board.

Understanding the needs of busy families, Because We Care Learning Academy includes all meals within its childcare fees. The center is committed to providing nutritious meals as part of a food program, ensuring children receive balanced and healthy food throughout the day. Yarbrough and Aguallo share responsibilities in food preparation, ensuring high standards are maintained.
