Navigating the world of early childhood education professional development is now simpler than ever, thanks to the Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal. This online platform serves as your central hub for accessing a wide range of learning events and workshops designed to enhance your skills and knowledge in early learning. To ensure a smooth and beneficial experience for all participants, it’s important to understand the policies governing these events. This guide outlines everything you need to know about registering, attending, and making the most of the learning opportunities available through the Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal.
Registration Policies
Enrolling in learning events and workshops offered through the Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal is a fully online process. To register, you will need to create an account on our platform. Registration is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and please be aware that seating for each event is limited. An online account is mandatory for all learning event registrations, irrespective of whether the event is free or requires payment. This streamlined system ensures efficient management and access to all our learning opportunities.
Payment Guidelines
For learning events that require a fee, payment can be conveniently made online at the time of registration through the Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal. Our secure online payment system ensures a safe and straightforward transaction process, allowing you to quickly finalize your enrollment and secure your spot in the chosen learning event.
Registration Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your registration for a learning event, you are entitled to a full refund if the cancellation is made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled event start time. To cancel, please log in to your Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal account and navigate to your registered events. Upon cancellation within the stipulated timeframe, a refund will be processed and credited back to the online account you used for the initial payment.
Learning Event Cancellation Policy
In certain circumstances, the Early Learning Coalition may need to cancel a learning event, typically due to insufficient enrollment. Should a cancellation occur, registered participants will be promptly notified via email using the contact information provided in their Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal account. In the event of a learning event cancellation, a full credit will be applied to your online account on the parent portal. This credit can be used for future learning event registrations.
Attendance Expectations
To maximize your learning experience and ensure the smooth operation of our events, we encourage all participants to log in virtually or arrive in person 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time of your learning event. It is crucial to be punctual; participants arriving more than 15 minutes after the session’s scheduled start time WILL NOT BE ADMITTED. Depending on the session, partial in-service credit may be offered for late arrivals who are admitted, but make-up sessions WILL NOT BE OFFERED under any circumstances for missed content. Please plan accordingly to arrive on time and fully benefit from the learning event.
Anti-Discrimination Commitment
The Early Learning Coalition and IECP are firmly committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all learners. In accordance with our anti-discrimination policy, we ensure that no person shall be discriminated against based on race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, disability/handicap, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, or age in any aspect of our learning events, training workshops, or professional development programs. Furthermore, the Early Learning Coalition is dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, handicaps, and/or religious beliefs to ensure equitable access to all learning opportunities.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance
The Early Learning Coalition fully complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you are a person with a disability or handicap and require reasonable accommodations to participate effectively in a learning event, please contact us at 813.515.2340 at least seven business days before the scheduled event. This advance notice allows us sufficient time to arrange and implement the necessary accommodations to support your learning experience.
Learner Security and Privacy
Protecting the privacy and security of our learners is paramount at the Early Learning Coalition. Our online learning platform, accessible through the parent portal, is designed with robust security measures to safeguard your personal information. Each learner’s record is restricted from public access. As a registered learner, you can access copies of your earned certifications and review your demographic/contact information within your Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal account. For online support or assistance accessing your records, please call 813.515.2340. To ensure learner identity verification, you will be required to present a state or government-issued photo ID at all in-person learning events.
Proprietary Interest Disclosure
To maintain transparency and ethical standards, the Early Learning Coalition requires all trainers and instructors to disclose any proprietary interest they may have in a product or service discussed during a learning event. Prior to attending a session, participants have the right to be informed about any potential proprietary interest a trainer/instructor may hold in any product, instrument, device, service, and/or materials discussed, as well as the source of any compensation related to the presentation. This policy ensures you are fully aware of any potential biases or affiliations.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and In-service Hours
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) may be awarded for learning events that are three hours or longer in duration. Events shorter than three hours will qualify for in-service hours upon successful completion. CEUs are granted upon meeting the successful completion criteria for the learning event. This includes arriving on time, attending all required sessions, actively participating, and completing any related assignments and/or surveys as specified by the trainer/instructor. For online training, an engagement score of 75% or higher is required, and CAMERAS MUST BE ON – NO EXCEPTIONS for all online sessions. Your participant name for online training must match the name used during registration on the Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal. Details regarding any required assignments or surveys will be outlined in the Training Description on our online platform. Learners are encouraged to contact trainers/instructors for any questions or clarifications regarding assignment completion. If the requirements for successful completion are not met, in-service hours will be awarded instead of CEUs. Please note that training sessions may be recorded for educational purposes.
Achievement Bonus Opportunities
Educators teaching in Hillsborough County may be eligible for an achievement bonus by participating in our learning events. To qualify, you must meet all course requirements, including pre/post assessments, homework assignments, reflection activities, and LMS instructor evaluations (if applicable). Please note that each individual is limited to a maximum of four training achievement bonuses per training cycle, and bonuses are not awarded for previously completed coursework. Furthermore, a completed W9 form must be submitted, and the address on the form must match the address in your Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal account. For any questions regarding achievement bonuses, please contact Abbey Landa at [email protected].
Certificate of Completion Access
Upon successfully completing a learning event or training program, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate can be easily accessed and retrieved from your individual online LMS account within the Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal. This digital certificate serves as official documentation of your participation and achievement in the learning event.
Child Care Considerations
Please be aware that all learning events and training sessions offered through the Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal are designed for adult audiences. To ensure your full engagement and participation, we kindly request that all registrants make necessary childcare arrangements prior to attending any learning event. Childcare services are not provided at the learning event venues.
By familiarizing yourself with these policies, you can ensure a positive and productive experience with the Early Learning Coalition Parent Portal and our learning events. We are dedicated to supporting your professional growth in early childhood education and look forward to your participation.
