Jane Thomas
ELLC Tutor
SU School of Law BA, Women’s and Gender Studies, French and Francophone Studies, Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies from Clark University (Worcester, MA)
Jane’s journey has taken her from Los Angeles, CA, across the US to New Orleans and Massachusetts, and even abroad to France before settling in Seattle. Her passion for teaching English blossomed during her time in France, where she taught English to university students at the University of Versailles. This experience ignited her interest in supporting others in their language acquisition goals. Further enriching her global perspective, Jane also studied abroad in Dakar, Senegal, where she engaged in informal language exchange, teaching English to her host family in return for Wolof lessons. Currently pursuing law at Seattle University, with a focus on public interest law, immigration law, and reproductive justice, Jane brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to our english learning center. Her linguistic skills extend beyond English and French to include informal German studies, showcasing her ongoing commitment to language learning. Outside of her academic and tutoring pursuits, Jane enjoys reading memoirs and indulging in chocolate croissants. Her diverse background and genuine enthusiasm for language learning make her an invaluable asset to our team, ready to assist you at our english learning center.

Ryan is a lifelong resident of Western Washington, bringing a deep understanding of the local context to his role as an ELLC tutor. Originally from Singapore, Jaymie’s twelve years in Vancouver, Canada, before moving to Seattle provide her with a rich understanding of diverse cultural and educational contexts, which she brings to our english learning center. Her previous experience as an elementary school teacher, combined with her Masters in School Psychology, equips her with a strong foundation in pedagogical principles and student support. Currently pursuing a master’s in school psychology, Jaymie is passionate about creating inclusive and engaging learning experiences. Her background in education and psychology makes her particularly adept at understanding the individual learning styles and challenges students may face in an english learning center setting. Krupali Joshi

Krupali hails from Mumbai, India, and brings a vibrant global perspective to the Seattle University english learning center. Her academic background in Psychology, with both a BA and MA from prestigious universities in Mumbai, coupled with her Master’s in Couples and Family Therapy, highlights her deep understanding of human interaction and communication – skills that are highly valuable in a language learning environment. Krupali’s impressive linguistic abilities extend to understanding seven languages and speaking four fluently, making her acutely aware of the nuances and challenges of language acquisition.
