Discovering the Early Learning Division: Your Partner in Early Childhood Education

The Division of Early Learning (DEL) stands as a cornerstone in the state’s commitment to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality early learning services for children and families. Collaborating with 30 early learning coalitions and the Redlands Christian Migrant Association, the Early Learning Division spearheads three vital programs designed to support young learners and their families:

  • The School Readiness Program (SR): This initiative offers crucial financial aid to low-income families, enabling access to early education and care. By supporting parents in achieving financial independence, the program ensures their young children are well-prepared for future academic success.
  • Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK): A gateway to kindergarten readiness, VPK is a free educational program designed for 4-year-olds. It equips them with the foundational skills necessary for a successful transition into kindergarten and continued learning.
  • Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R): Navigating child care options becomes easier with CCR&R. This network assists families in identifying and selecting quality child care solutions that effectively cater to their unique needs and circumstances.
