Navigating the Forefront of Machine Learning Research: International Conference Proceedings

The Proceedings of Machine Learning Research (PMLR) stands as a vital series dedicated to disseminating cutting-edge research from international conferences and workshops focused on machine learning. This prestigious collection offers researchers, academics, and industry professionals a comprehensive resource to stay informed about the latest advancements in the field. Each volume within the PMLR series is meticulously curated, featuring peer-reviewed papers presented at distinct events, ensuring a high standard of scholarly contribution. Published online, PMLR provides open access to this wealth of knowledge, championing the progress and collaborative spirit within the machine learning community. Authors retain copyright of their work, fostering innovation and wider impact.

Guidance for Conference Organizers and Editors

Under the expert series editorship of Neil Lawrence, PMLR actively seeks proposals for new volumes. Organizers of international conferences on machine learning are invited to submit proposals to proceedingsmlr.press. A compelling proposal should concisely outline the event’s scope, the key topics addressed, and a clear description of the rigorous review process employed for the conference proceedings. Furthermore, the proposal must include the names and brief CVs of the proposed Proceedings Editors, highlighting their expertise in the relevant areas of machine learning. For further details regarding the process of publishing proceedings, please consult the FAQ. Detailed instructions on preparing proceedings for publication can be found in the Specification.

Reissuing Landmark Research

Recognizing the enduring value of seminal works, PMLR has initiated a “reissue series.” This initiative aims to republish significant volumes of machine learning research that may no longer be readily accessible online. Among the first reissued collections are early editions from the prestigious AISTATS (International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Statistics), including AISTATS 1995, AISTATS 1997, AISTATS 1999, AISTATS 2001, AISTATS 2003 and AISTATS 2005. Suggestions for volumes to be considered for the reissue series are welcomed by the editors. To propose a volume, please ensure you can provide the information detailed in the Proceedings Specification.

PMLR: The Evolution of Machine Learning Publications

On April 10th, 2017, the Journal of Machine Learning Research Workshop and Conference Proceedings (JMLR W&CP) underwent a rebranding, becoming PMLR and transitioning to exclusive online publication on the PMLR website. Volume 54, featuring the 2017 AISTATS Proceedings, marked the inaugural volume published solely on the PMLR platform. The ISSN for the former proceedings series was 1938-7228.
