Josie Villareal’s Journey: From Parent to Pillar of Early Education
Josie’s foray into childcare was born out of a practical need. As a new resident of Arlington with aspirations to become a teacher, she encountered the challenge of finding affordable daycare. An opportunity arose when a daycare center offered her a position with reduced tuition for her child. This experience opened her eyes to the inner workings of childcare management, licensing, and the vital programs that support early learning environments. “Working in that childcare center allowed me to understand the business from the ground up,” Josie explains.
In 1999, just a year after entering the childcare sector, Josie took a leap of faith and purchased the building that would become All Star Learning Center. Expanding further, she acquired the adjacent building in 2001, demonstrating her growing commitment and vision for a comprehensive childcare facility.
All Star Learning Center: Nurturing Young Minds in Arlington
Today, All Star Learning Center is a thriving hub of early childhood education, catering to 43 children ranging from three months to nine years old. With a dedicated team of 12 staff members, the center offers both daycare and after-school care programs, addressing the critical need for reliable and affordable childcare in Arlington. Josie, a long-time Arlington resident herself, deeply understands the community’s needs and strives to make quality childcare accessible.
All Star Learning Center proudly holds a four-star rating from the Texas Rising Star certification program. This prestigious recognition signifies the center’s commitment to exceeding standards in childcare quality. Participation in the Texas Workforce Commission’s Child Care Management Services (CCMS) program further underscores this commitment. CCMS assists eligible parents with childcare costs and mandates a certified curriculum, regular child assessments, and parent-teacher conferences, ensuring a holistic approach to child development.
Moreover, All Star Learning Center was among the first in Arlington to implement Early Head Start, a nationally recognized early education initiative for children from low-income families. Josie’s proactive involvement in these programs highlights her dedication to maintaining the highest standards of care and providing enriching early learning experiences for all children.
