The Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) represents a dynamic approach within Washington State’s public education system, designed to cater to diverse student needs through instruction delivered outside the conventional classroom setting. Accessible across all public school districts and charter schools in Washington, ALE programs are intentionally structured to provide educational pathways that align with the unique requirements of each learner. Grounded in all standard public education mandates, ALE operates in accordance with Chapter 392-550 WAC, ensuring both flexibility and accountability.

Dedicated Office Hours for School Staff
To support the successful implementation and navigation of ALE programs, dedicated office hours are available for school staff. These sessions are designed for one-on-one consultations addressing a range of topics including ALE implementation strategies, compliance requirements, choice transfers, online learning platforms, and reporting procedures. Staff are invited to drop in for individualized support, with questions addressed on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure efficient assistance, attendees are encouraged to briefly summarize their questions upon joining, facilitating connection with program staff best suited to provide in-depth guidance in breakout rooms.
Office hours are scheduled for the third or fourth Friday of each month, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
For inquiries or to arrange meetings outside of these scheduled hours, please reach out via the Learning Options email.
