Sometimes, when I welcome families to Discovery World Learning Center, they ask a simple yet profound question: “Why do you do what you do?”. My journey in education began 30 years ago, and for the past 15 years, Discovery World has been my passion project. Owning and nurturing this learning center has been a journey of continuous choices, always guided by what’s best for the children, their parents, my dedicated staff, and my own sense of fulfillment. To answer that question directly, it always comes back to the core of why Discovery World Learning Center exists.
My motivation is simple: I adore children. Their presence is a genuine source of joy for me. Witnessing their daily explorations and interactions often brings an unbidden smile to my face.

Their developing minds are endlessly fascinating and impressive. I connect with their energy and enthusiasm. My deepest wish is to see them flourish, learn, and most importantly, experience the joy of learning. Discovery World Learning Center is designed to integrate essential skills – from math and science to reading, social abilities, gross and fine motor skills, and cognitive development – in a way that’s inherently fun and engaging. Is there anything more rewarding than watching children immerse themselves in a captivating sensory table? For me, the answer is a resounding no. This hands-on approach is central to our philosophy at Discovery World Learning Center.
We believe in a balanced approach to education. At Discovery World Learning Center, we understand that math isn’t more valuable than a child’s laughter, and reading isn’t more crucial than a comforting hug. Everything is interconnected and equally vital. We strive to cultivate all aspects of a child’s development with the help of our exceptional team. The staff at Discovery World Learning Center is a remarkable blend of diverse individuals united by a common purpose. They are truly a dynamic force, instrumental in bringing our educational vision to life. Inspired by the children, they, in turn, inspire everyone around them, embodying a shared belief in the power and potential of the next generation.

The collective effort of our Discovery World Learning Center community—staff, families, and children—amplifies our positive impact. Our supportive families are crucial in making a real difference. Can we collect five bins of food for families in need during Thanksgiving? Absolutely, we can. Can we gather 100 coats for those in need during Christmas? Yes, we are capable. Can we amass thousands upon thousands of aluminum tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House each year? Indeed, we can. Can we achieve our goal of reading 100 books to donate books to children of military families? Yes! And can we recycle ink cartridges to promote environmental responsibility and donate the proceeds to our local hospital’s neonatal unit? Yes, yes, yes, we are committed! These collective achievements highlight the strong community spirit fostered at Discovery World Learning Center.
While all these community contributions are significant reasons for what we do at Discovery World Learning Center, the most fundamental answer is deeply personal. For me, and for every member of my staff, we are driven by love. We do it because we are passionate about it.
