Unlock Learn Worlds with Seamless Zoom Integration for Enhanced Online Learning

LearnWorlds platform integrates live Zoom sessions as a vital feature for your online courses, capitalizing on Zoom’s widespread use in teleconferencing, especially within the realm of online education. This integration empowers educators to create engaging and interactive learning experiences, effectively expanding the horizons of Learn Worlds for students globally.

Two primary interactive learning activities are available through this integration:

  • Zoom Meetings: Ideal for smaller, collaborative sessions where instructors or school administrators can schedule interactive meetings.
  • Zoom Webinars: Suited for larger audiences, allowing instructors or administrators to host webinars for broader knowledge dissemination.

Students enrolled in courses utilizing Zoom meetings or webinars can effortlessly join sessions directly through the LearnWorlds platform. This seamless integration eliminates the need for external Zoom application installations, ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience within the familiar course environment.

This article will guide you through the process of connecting and configuring Zoom accounts within LearnWorlds, enabling you to broaden your learn worlds and offer richer, more interactive online courses.

Connecting Your Zoom Account to LearnWorlds

Depending on your LearnWorlds plan, the number of Zoom accounts you can connect varies. The Pro Trainer plan allows for connection to a single Zoom account, while the Learning Center plan and higher tiers support multiple Zoom account integrations. To connect your Zoom account, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to SettingsIntegrationsLive Sessions in your LearnWorlds admin dashboard. Click on Activate to enable the Zoom integration feature.

2. Determine whether to Enable Instructors to connect their individual Zoom accounts. This option is available for Learning Center plans and higher.

3. Click the Connect account button.

4. You will be redirected to the Zoom Sign-in page. Log in using your Zoom account credentials.

5. Upon successful login, Zoom will request authorization for the “LearnWorlds Meetings” application to access your account. Click Authorize to grant permission.

Congratulations! Your Zoom account is now linked to your LearnWorlds school. You can now start creating and scheduling Zoom Meetings and Webinars directly within your LearnWorlds courses and share these enriching learn worlds of interactive sessions with your students.

Important Note for Company Zoom Accounts: If you are using a corporate Zoom account and logged in as a standard user, the LearnWorlds App may require pre-approval from your company’s Zoom administrator within the Zoom Marketplace. Contact your Zoom admin to approve the LearnWorlds Zoom App installation if needed.

Once your Zoom account is integrated, it can be associated with a specific instructor (Pro Trainer plan or higher) or multiple instructors (Learning Center plan and higher) within your educational institution.

Connecting Multiple Zoom Accounts for Expanded Reach

For users on the Learning Center plan or higher, LearnWorlds offers the flexibility to connect multiple Zoom accounts. To add additional Zoom accounts, simply repeat the connection steps outlined above. This feature is invaluable for larger institutions or those needing to host concurrent live sessions, further expanding the learn worlds accessible through your platform.

Assigning Instructors to Zoom Accounts for Personalized Learning

Instructors can also connect their own Zoom accounts and manage Zoom meetings/webinars directly through their instructor dashboard. This capability, available on Learning Center plans and higher, is activated when the admin enables the “Instructor accounts” option on the Live session settings page.

Instructors can access the Live Sessions section in their dashboard to connect their Zoom accounts, empowering them to create and manage their own interactive learn worlds within their courses.

Important Note: To avoid scheduling conflicts, administrators cannot use an instructor’s Zoom account while the instructor is actively hosting a meeting. A new session can only be scheduled after the current meeting concludes.

Disconnecting the Zoom App for Account Management

To disconnect your Zoom account from LearnWorlds, you need to first log in to your Zoom account and initiate the disconnection process from within Zoom.

If you are not already logged into Zoom, you will be redirected to the Zoom Marketplace. Log in, then navigate to the Installed Apps page. Locate the LearnWorlds Meetings app and click Uninstall.

Once the uninstallation is complete, the Zoom accounts will be deactivated within your LearnWorlds “Live session” settings, and any associated learning activities will be unassigned.

Understanding Current Limitations of Web-Based Zoom Integration

Please be aware of the following limitations when using the web-based Zoom integration:

  • Zoom polls are currently not supported within the web integration.
  • Full support for Zoom web components is currently optimized for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers.
  • Administrators (Zoom Hosts) cannot promote students to panelists if they join the webinar via the web browser interface.
  • Gallery view functionality is not available due to limitations in Zoom’s web control.
  • The functionality of certain buttons, such as full-screen expansion, is dependent on Zoom’s web SDK.
  • Starting a Zoom meeting via mobile devices is not supported for administrators.

Users encountering these limitations can utilize the “Join URL” setting in the learning activity settings. Enabling this option allows participants to join via the native Zoom desktop or mobile application, bypassing web-based limitations.
