Viewing Student Results (Real-Time)
To monitor your students’ progress during a live Legends of Learning assignment, navigate to the Active Assignments section on your Legends account homepage. Simply click on the assignment name you wish to examine. This action will redirect you to the Student Data page, where you can observe real-time student progress and performance.
Once on the Student Data page, the Activities bar provides an immediate overview of all activities assigned within the selected assignment. Clicking on a specific game tile within this bar will reveal more detailed information about that particular activity.
Below the Activities bar, you will find the Student Table. This table is a central hub for tracking each student’s progress and performance within the assignment in Legends of Learning.
For each student who has started the assignment, the Student Table displays their avatar and name, providing a quick visual and textual identifier.
Adjacent to each student’s avatar, a status indicator provides real-time information about their activity within the Legends of Learning assignment.
These status indicators are represented by three distinct icons:
- Green Triangle: Indicates the student is actively engaged and playing the Legends of Learning assignment.
- Red Octagon: Signals that the student is not actively playing. This could mean they have navigated away from the assignment tab or are idle within the assignment.
- Grey Circle: Indicates an unknown status, likely because the student has signed out of the Legends of Learning assignment.
The Student Data Table further breaks down student progress by showing which activities they have started and their advancement within each. A purple progress bar under each activity visually represents how far a student has progressed in that specific part of the Legends of Learning assignment.
- Hovering over an activity in the Student Table provides a quick overview of student statistics for that activity, including playtime and completion status for each component of the assignment.
The Student Table also displays the Start date and total Playtime for each student’s engagement with the Legends of Learning assignment, giving you a sense of their time investment.
The Progress Wheel offers a visual representation of the overall completion percentage for the entire Legends of Learning assignment.
Important Note: The Progress Wheel reflects completion progress, not the student’s performance grade.
For each student in the Student Table, three interactive buttons provide additional actions:
- Skip Button: Allows you to advance a student to the next activity within the Legends of Learning assignment. This can be used multiple times as needed. Skipped activities are reflected in the completion status when hovering over the activity icon.
- Restart Button: Forces a student to restart the entire Legends of Learning assignment. This action clears all existing student data, returning them to the beginning of the assignment.
- Performance Button: Generates a detailed report of individual student performance for each question and provides grades for assessments or Quiz Games included in the Legends of Learning assignment.
To view overall class performance data for all students who have started the assignment, utilize the Question Results button located at the top right of the Student Table.
The Question Results Report provides a comprehensive overview, including the overall assignment grade, the percentage of the class that answered each question correctly, and grades for any assessments or Quiz Games within the Legends of Learning assignment.
For a detailed breakdown of student responses to each question, click the expand arrow to the left of the question in the Question Results Report.
This report can be further filtered to show specific student groups, or you can search for individual students by name for more focused analysis within Legends of Learning.
At the top of the Student Data page, several additional buttons offer useful assignment management features:
The Pause button temporarily freezes student screens, effectively pausing their access to the Legends of Learning assignment. This is a useful feature to regain student attention during class.
The End button completely stops the Legends of Learning assignment for all students. If needed, the assignment can be Restarted after ending.
The Edit Assignment option, located at the top right, allows you to modify assignment details such as the name, dates, and assigned student groups within Legends of Learning.
Also in the top right corner, the Student Instructions option provides access to student login directions for the Legends of Learning assignment.
This pop-up window displays various methods for students to access and log in to the assignment. Select your preferred method from the available options.
After choosing a login method, you can download specific login instructions for distribution to students or parents by clicking the ‘Download Instructions’ button. This will download a file containing the necessary login information for your students to access Legends of Learning.
The More menu provides additional actions for managing your Legends of Learning assignments.
Within the More menu, you can:
- Use Send Link to Google Classroom to directly assign the Legends of Learning assignment in Google Classroom.
- Utilize Send Scores to Google Classroom to share current student scores to Google Classroom.
- Select Download Scores CSV to download student scores and question results as a .csv file.
- Choose Preview as a Student to experience the Legends of Learning assignment from a student’s perspective.
