RECLAIM (Reclaiming Forgotten Cities) is a pioneering UKRI-funded Network+ initiative, backed by EPSRC, NERC, and AHRC, dedicated to transforming urban spaces into healthier environments. Led by the University of Surrey’s Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE), in collaboration with leading UK institutions, RECLAIM serves as a central hub for cities and towns seeking expertise in green and blue infrastructure. This innovative network facilitates the adoption of sustainable solutions, connecting communities with valuable resources and shared experiences.
RECLAIM fosters a vibrant community of practice, holistically addressing the integration of Green-Blue-Grey Infrastructure (GBGI) in urban settings. By pinpointing knowledge gaps and implementation hurdles, RECLAIM accelerates the development of solutions that bolster urban sustainability and resilience against climate and societal pressures. The network actively promotes GBGI through diverse activities, including insightful webinars, collaborative meetings, hands-on workshops, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses, and funding opportunities for proof-of-concept and feasibility studies. These initiatives are designed to encourage researcher and job exchanges among partners, enriching the collective knowledge base.
