Finding your way to the Pacific Coast Learning Center at the Point Reyes National Seashore is straightforward with the right directions. This guide provides comprehensive driving instructions to ensure a smooth arrival at this unique educational and research facility.
Directions from East and South Bay Areas:
Begin by taking I-580 W/I-80 E towards the Richmond San Rafael bridge (remember the toll). Stay to the left after the bridge, avoiding the Sir Francis Drake Blvd exit, and merge onto US-101 North. Take exit 452, marked for Central San Rafael. In the left two lanes, turn left onto 3rd Street. Continue for about 2 miles, then turn right onto Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Stay on Sir Francis Drake Blvd for approximately 16.9 miles until it ends at Shoreline Hwy (CA Hwy 1). Turn left onto Shoreline Hwy and drive for 5.9 miles. Look for the roadside National Park Service sign indicating “Pacific Coast Learning Center” and turn right into the driveway. Proceed west through the gate, follow the driveway, and turn left at the ‘T’. You’ll see the large white Hagmaier Ranch House at the end of the driveway, up a slight rise. Enter through the back door porch.
Directions from North Bay Areas:
From North Bay locations, travel south on Shoreline Hwy (CA Hwy 1). Drive 5.9 miles south from the intersection of Sir Francis Drake Blvd in Olema. Turn right into the driveway where you’ll see the National Park Service sign for the “Pacific Coast Learning Center”. Drive west through the gate, continue on the driveway, and turn left at the ‘T’ intersection. The Hagmaier Ranch House will be visible at the south end of the driveway, slightly uphill. Use the back door porch to enter.
Directions from Bolinas and Environs:
If you are coming from Bolinas, head north on Highway 1 for 3.2 miles from the Olema Bolinas Road intersection. Turn left into the driveway marked by the “Pacific Coast Learning Center” sign from the National Park Service. Drive west through the gate, follow the driveway to the ‘T’ and turn left. The Hagmaier Ranch House is located at the south end of the driveway, up a small rise. Access the building via the small porch at the back door.
