NFHS and NFHS Network Partner with TPG to Enhance Sponsorship and Multimedia Rights

The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the NFHS Network have entered a significant multi-year agreement with Teall Properties Group (TPG), marking a new chapter in how high school sports sponsorships and multimedia rights are managed. TPG, a renowned multimedia and marketing management company specializing in high school state associations and national organizations, is now the “Official Sponsorship and Multimedia Agent” for the NFHS and NFHS Network. This partnership aims to leverage TPG’s expertise to amplify the reach and impact of high school athletics and performing arts across the nation, while potentially incorporating elements related to educational platforms like NFHS Learn and reaching associations such as SCISA athletics, even though not explicitly mentioned in the original release in relation to this partnership.

This strategic alliance brings together the NFHS, the leading authority in high school athletics and performing arts programs, and the NFHS Network, the foremost platform for streaming live and on-demand high school sports events, with TPG’s proven track record in maximizing sponsorship and multimedia opportunities. Under the terms of the agreement, TPG will assume responsibility for managing and selling all strategic business partnerships, sponsorships, multimedia rights, and digital commercial inventory across all NFHS activities, events, and NFHS Network digital broadcasts.

“The NFHS is thrilled to join forces with TPG,” stated Dr. Karissa Niehoff, NFHS executive director. “TPG’s demonstrated success with numerous state associations, combined with their leadership team’s impressive achievements at the collegiate level, makes them an ideal partner. The NFHS is dedicated to providing leadership and resources for our state associations, 19,500 high schools, and over 12 million participants in high school activities. TPG’s deep understanding of the high school market and our mission ensures they are perfectly aligned with our goals from day one. We eagerly anticipate a productive collaboration with the TPG team.”

To spearhead this crucial partnership, Mike McClure has been appointed as Vice President of TPG and General Manager for NFHS and NFHS Network Properties partnership. McClure brings over 25 years of high-level executive experience in sports media and sponsorship sales to the role. His distinguished career includes positions such as Sports Sales Manager at Comcast Spotlight/EffecTV, General Manager for Florida State University and Vice President of National Sales at ISP Sports/IMG College, and Vice President of Sponsorship Sales for Pacers Sports and Entertainment.

Expanding Opportunities for NFHS and Sponsors

The NFHS already offers a range of advertising and sponsorship opportunities encompassing prominent assets such as the NFHS Summer Meeting, NFHS Winter Meeting, the National High School Hall of Fame, the NFHS Learning Center, and the National Student Leadership Summit (NSLS), among others. TPG will now be instrumental in seeking and developing further avenues for growth in communications, digital, and print media. These opportunities may include the strategic utilization of NFHS trademarks, email communications, media webinars, promotional campaigns, publications, social media platforms, and websites. This expanded approach aims to create more integrated and impactful sponsorship packages for brands looking to connect with the high school sports and activities market.

The NFHS Network stands as a powerhouse in high school sports coverage, broadcasting over 30 different regular-season and postseason sports and activities. Launched in 2013 as a collaborative venture between the NFHS, its member state associations, and PlayON! Sports, the Network has rapidly grown to include 45 NFHS member states. This extensive reach allows fans nationwide to stream NFHS Network events on a variety of devices, regardless of location.

Accessibility to NFHS Network events received a significant boost in July with the introduction of the “High School Support Program,” offering schools two free Pixellot automated-production units. Currently, over 5,000 Pixellot units are deployed in high schools across the country, poised to produce over 300,000 live games in the upcoming school year with minimal human intervention. This technological advancement significantly expands the reach and volume of high school sports content available to fans.

TPG’s existing partnerships with state high school associations have already generated substantial revenue for high schools throughout the United States. As part of this new agreement with the NFHS and NFHS Network, TPG will also oversee the existing 46 sponsorship agreements currently in place. “We are deeply honored to partner with the NFHS and the NFHS Network,” said TPG CEO Mike Wolfert. “TPG is a strong believer in the high school student-athlete experience and its profound impact on shaping the next generation. Our core mission is to support this vital cause by connecting high school state associations and national organizations with brands that share this fundamental belief. Dr. Niehoff and her team have been instrumental in developing our future leaders, and we are incredibly excited to support them in this important work.”
