Get ready for an enriching Summer 2025 with Winnetka Public Schools’ Adventures In Learning (AIL) programs! We are excited to announce a diverse array of summer programs, designed to ignite curiosity and foster academic growth. Our Adventures in Learning include the engaging Discover program, the supportive Extended School Year (ESY), and targeted Academic Intervention classes. These programs ensure that students have continued opportunities for learning and development throughout the summer break.
Winnetka Public Schools will host all summer programs at Greeley and Hubbard Woods Elementary schools from June 23 to July 24, 2025. Please note that there will be no classes held on Friday, July 4th, in observance of the holiday. The daily program hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Program Locations by Grade Level
To ensure age-appropriate learning environments, our programs will be held at two convenient elementary school locations:
- Greeley Elementary School: Welcoming students entering Kindergarten through 4th grade for the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Hubbard Woods Elementary School: Hosting students entering 5th through 8th grade for the upcoming school year.
Important Note: Please register your child based on their incoming grade level for the 2025-2026 school year.
Adventures in Learning: Discover Program
The AIL: Discover program offers a fantastic selection of unique and captivating courses built to spark curiosity and enhance creativity. We strive to provide innovative and engaging learning experiences that will motivate students seeking academic enrichment during the summer months.
AIL: Discover Program Cost:
- Residents: $725
- Non-Residents: $785
Additional Supply Fees: Some Discover courses may have extra supply fees to cover specialized materials. For example:
- Fishing (Transportation-Double Period): $220.00
- Animal Care: $28.00
- Kitchen Magicians: $33.00
- Candle Making: $66.00
- Build Your Own Stuffed Animal: $33.00
- Spa-Licious: $20.00

Adventures in Learning: Extended School Year (ESY)
Our Extended School Year (ESY) program is specifically designed to support students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). ESY provides crucial support beyond the regular academic year to prevent significant regression of skills for eligible students. This tailored program directly addresses the unique educational needs outlined in each student’s IEP. Participation in ESY is by invitation only and is offered at no cost to families. Eligibility is determined based on specific criteria, including the risk of substantial skill loss during school breaks.
Adventures in Learning: Academic Intervention
Academic Intervention programs are available by invitation only for students who qualify for targeted support in math and/or reading. Following winter benchmarking, selected students will have the opportunity to continue receiving essential intervention services throughout the summer. This program aims to maintain academic progress and prevent learning loss in key subject areas. There is no fee for participation in the Academic Intervention program.
