Competitive Salaries and Benefits

Harris Early Learning Center recognizes the value of our teachers through a competitive salary structure based on the State of Alabama Teacher Salary Matrix and your qualifications:

  • High School Diploma: $32,000 – $40,000
  • Associate’s Degree: $34,200 – $42,000
  • Bachelor’s Degree: $36,200 – $44,000
  • Master’s Degree: $38,200 – $46,000

Teachers are paid bi-weekly and are classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position is a one-year limited-term appointment, with the potential for continued employment based on funding availability.

Your Responsibilities as an Early Learning Center Teacher

As a Harris Early Learning Center Teacher, you will:

  • Develop and Implement a Child-Centered Curriculum: Create and deliver engaging curriculum aligned with early childhood education best practices and NAEYC accreditation standards.
  • Foster Holistic Child Development: Guide children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth through nurturing and structured learning environments.
  • Design and Execute Daily Programs: Plan, implement, and assess daily classroom activities to promote active learning and exploration.
  • Model Best Teaching Practices: Serve as a mentor and role model for undergraduate students, demonstrating effective teaching methodologies during coursework and internships.
  • Collaborate with Professionals and Parents: Work collaboratively with community professionals, such as therapists and psychologists, and maintain open communication with parents regarding their child’s progress.

Minimum Qualifications to Join Our Team

We are looking for individuals who possess:

  • Educational Foundation: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Essential Certifications: Successful candidates must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 60 days of hire and complete a TB Skin Test.
