Designed for children who turn 5 after December 2nd and those who might benefit from an extra year of preschool before Kindergarten, our Jr. Kindergarten program bridges the gap for children who are developmentally ready for more academic challenges. This program offers a structured, academically enriched environment that utilizes a Kindergarten-level curriculum. By exploring language, writing, mathematics, and science in an engaging and supportive classroom, children in Jr. Kindergarten are thoroughly prepared for the academic rigor of Kindergarten while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards learning. Kindergarten Program: 5 Years – 6 Years
Play ‘N’ Learn Preschool’s Kindergarten program has a proven track record of preparing children for academic excellence. Our commitment to a low student-to-teacher ratio and a full-day schedule allows for in-depth exploration of subjects, fostering a deeper understanding and love for learning. The individualized attention each student receives cultivates self-confidence and sets the stage for future academic success. Our comprehensive schedule, from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, also eliminates the need for separate before and after school care, providing convenience and value for parents. Key learning objectives in our Kindergarten class include reading foundational books, mastering basic addition and subtraction, and identifying states and capitals. We maintain open communication with parents through progress reports and parent-teacher conferences held twice yearly, ensuring a collaborative approach to your child’s educational journey. Furthermore, exciting field trips to educational venues like the Children’s Discovery Museum and the California Theater Center extend learning beyond the classroom walls. Graduates of our Kindergarten program are exceptionally well-prepared for the academic, social, and emotional transitions to first grade and beyond.
